Barbara Lewis Shaw comes to interior design unusually well prepared.

Barbara developed a love and respect for art, design and architecture by her family of artists, inventors and design engineers. Her degrees in Latin and Greek classics gave her a deep appreciation for the history of design, and her background of mechanical drawing and project management gave her the tools to translate her vision into reality.

After working with a premier design/furniture maker, Barbara co-founded Design Group in 1983 and after her partner moved overseas in 1991 she continued as the principal owner.
Since Design Group’s inception, Barbara has designed and implemented an extensive number of versatile projects – residential and commercial – in both traditional and contemporary styles.

Design Group’s creations are refined, yet practical: masterpieces brought to life from the original inspiration. She integrates classical esthetics, attention to detail and balance, with the ability to make it look effortless.
